Warning, unabashed gloating to follow ...

After having tried in vain for the past three weeks to actually have a chat with the leader of my Weight Watchers meeting (they are so disorganised here, I miss Dunedin) we finally caught up last night.

After reviewing how I am going, and the fact that the goal weight set for me was, to my mind, a little unrealistic for me to maintain long term, we re-calculated my goal.

I'm now on week three of maintenance. Three weeks to go and I'll be a Lifetime Member !!!

And ... and ... and ...

I weigh less than 60kg for the first time since I fell pregnant with Kieran ten years ago !!!

Pros and cons ...

Eight things I really like about moving home ...
- No matter how "bad" the weather is, it's still 24 degrees
- I've seen my in-laws three times in the past three weeks
- My clothesline actually sees sunshine regularly
- ACC have come to the party and I now have a cleaner
- I've learnt how to use a BBQ
- I spent two hours talking to my sister in law on the weekend
- My neighbour brought us homegrown tomatoes this afternoon
- There are now less than six weeks until the MOTH comes home

Eight things I really really don't like about moving home ...
- My MOTH is still in Dunedin
- I'm still unemployed*
- The washing machine is making horrible grinding noises
- The cleaner vacuumed up a white tailed spider this afternoon**
- I don't have a dishwasher
- We still don't have a puppy
- There's a decided lack of places to ice skate
- There are still nearly six weeks until the MOTH comes home

*I have had to resort to the humiliating "crawling to recruitment agencies" phase of job hunting

** I am now wandering around in a state of total paranoia checking under every pillow and shaking every towel before I go near it (in case you hadn't guessed, I'm not good with spiders)

I miss my MOTH !!!

He flew back to Dunedin last weekend.

Our anniversary was on Wednesday. We've been together for a whole decade, married for seven years. It's the first time we haven't both taken the day off work and gone on a "date" ...

Tonight we finally managed to set up the webcam and the mic to work properly, so the rugrats can chat with their dad and tell him all about their day without my having to sit there and type for them. Skype truly is a wonderful thing.

One week down ... seven to go ...

It wasn't supposed to be this hard ...

I'd forgotten what it was like to live in a town where you don't really know anyone.

I'm supposed to be finding a job, but how do you apply for jobs that simply aren't there ?!?!?

I miss my dishwasher !!!

My shoulder is still a major source of concern, although next week I am going in to have a couple of steroid injections into the joint in the hopes it might help somewhat ...

I'm not sleeping properly (I very seldom do without my MOTH).

On the plus side I lost 1.2kg this week and am now only 300g off my goal weight !!!

And ACC have found me a support worker to come in for four hours a week to do my housework (seeing as I am forbidden to vaccum or scrub or change sheets).

Could be worse I suppose ...

Speechless (almost) ...

Went to physio for my shoulder today. A new physio (obviously, seeing as the old one is in Dunedin) ...

Apparently I don't have a "damaged rotator cuff". Apparently, all the strengthening exercises and working out on the Pilates machine I have been doing twice a week for the past three months has been a complete and utter waste of time !!!!

And why ? Because apparently the problem with my shoulder is .... the freaking thing is partially dislocated !!!!! I have been walking around with a partially dislocated shoulder for FOUR MONTHS !!! And my physio in Dunedin didn't pick it up, and has been treating the wrong freaking problem !!!

So I ask the physio "Will I be able to play squash again ?" and he says "I expect a 100% resolution. We have two options open to us : conservative or surgical (?!?!?!?)" ...

Go on ... guess how pissed off I am right now ...
