Of creepies ... and crawlies ...
K and I took an unscheduled day off yesterday. Oh the horror !!!
Twas the month before Christmas
and all through the house
there were parasites lurking
yep, it was a louse !!!
After rinsing and scraping
she fell into bed
with visions of headlice
crawling over her head !!!
Four and a half hours it took. Next time I'm shaving his head !!! He can have a haircut to match his daddy's.
(Go on ... I'll bet you're scratching ... right now ... you are ... aren't you ?!?!?!)

you're right, I scratched. The day care I once worked at had an outbreak, so imagine doing that to 66 kids. And sterilizing everything, washing all bedding etc. And then, a week later, we had it again. Turned out the kindergarten teacher was playing pass-the-hat (we were located in a school and had five kids that went to kindergarten in the morning). What a DUMB game! I think of that everytime we go to a restaurant where they are happy-birthdaying someone by making them wear a stupid hat and stand on a chair. Obviously they didn't play pass-the-hat like these kids did!
I can remember getting those as a wee Peanut Princess....and I had REALLY long hair at the time.
It was HORRIBLE...I SO sympathize with you!
I feel for you. That is one childhood thing we haven't gone through yet. Nice sense of humor to make a cute poem about this!
*nods head knowingly* oh yes, I remember those times well...the first time it was because Ryan was scratching, yet I couldn't find anything in his fair-haired head...I grabbed Cam to have a quick look (his hair's a lot darker and thicker), and OH.MY.GOD...there were lice the size of Australia in there. Yeah ok, an exaggeration, but hell they had to be the mother-ship of all lice...they were crawling about having a party! How he hadn't be scratching is beyond me! *shudder*
Shaved head sounds good to me, that's what I did anyway lol I sat them outside on the deck and shaved them both...let the wind carry those nasty beasties off to the little girl next door. Never did like her or her mother anyway. lol
indeed mdear i was scratching at the time but not the hair on my head (its a bloke thing)
lisa: lice the size of tasmania maybe?
