Wherein little boys grow up (and develop big mouths) ...

So K has been a bit mouthier than usual lately. I'm starting to think he may actually have a promising career as a lawyer in future years, what with his ability to argue about absolutely everything, and his total inability to shut up.

It's sometimes entertaining, this growing up thing ...

K (racing in from the shower) : "Look !! Look !! I have hair under my arms !!!"

MOTH (in total disbelief) : "Don't be ridiculous, it's just one that fell off the soap. Look, I'll pull it like this, see ..."

K : "Ouch !!"

MOTH : "Well, you'd better let me pull it out anyway - before it dies"

K : "Why will it die ?"

MOTH : "Of loneliness ..."

And other times, it's not quite so entertaining ...

Me (upon nearly driving over his bike helmet when I arrive home for the third time in a week) : "Does your helmet LIVE in the driveway ?"

K (with a deep, put-upon type sigh, walking away) : "I said I'd get it already"

Me : "I could really do without the attitude from a 10yo you know. Remember, I'm the adult here and you're supposed to do what you're told, when you're told, without the mouth. We've had this discussion before haven't we ?"

K (leaping on his bike and riding up the driveway) : "I had a great day too, thanks for asking"

We're heading off to the beach tomorrow, in a tent, for ten days. Christmas with no hot showers, no TV, no phones, no computer games, and just each other for company.

It'll either be totally fantastic, or K will be spending ten days tied to a tree at the far end of the camp ground. I'll let you know how it goes ...

Have a safe and happy holiday season everyone, and we'll see you next year ...

"loneliness" lol very cute.

And I'll swap if you like, you can have Ryan with his attitude, and I'll take K. Or better yet, why don't you just take Ryan anyway, and you can tie them both to a tree at the far end of the camp? Would do wonders for me I tell ya lol

Have a wonderful time camping..I envy you..in some ways, but not in the 'can't-do-without-my-home-comforts' kinda way!

Happy Xmas to you and your family R xx
