Not so different after all ...
Our exchange student has been with us for just over a week now, and I am amazed at how rapidly his English is improving.
Beneath a rather stern initial impression, there is actually rather a wicked sense of humour and a great sense of fun.
He turned 16 yesterday. We went ten pin bowling, and then out to dinner at a Japanese restaurant.
I think he had fun ...

kassi..thank you for the paperchain idea. I think my kids will like that, and it will take up some time decorating it!

Well he certainly looks like he's having fun. What a cool way to celebrate his birthday. SO good to see the children again :)
Cam said when he was in Japan that anything his host family did for him or with him in mind was great, he appreciate everything they did. Just wasn't always able to get that across due to the language thing. I think that could be one of the reasons he's keen to go back, so he can show them how much better he is at speaking the speak now lol
